Who this covers
Yoko’s Coastal Cat Retreat is a small, cat-only boarding service in Oceanside,
California. This page explains what information is collected when you enquire, book a
stay, or use this website, and what is done with it.
What is collected
- Your contact details — name, phone number and email address, so that the
booking can be confirmed and you can be reached while your cat is here. - Your cat’s details — name, age, breed, routine, dietary needs,
medication and any medical or behavioural notes you share. - Booking details — dates, suite, number of cats and any add-ons or
discounts applied. - Your vet’s details — practice name and phone number, held in case of
emergency. - Photos and video of your cat taken during the stay, for the daily updates sent
to you.
Payment card details are never collected or stored here. Payments are handled by the
payment provider, who processes them under their own privacy terms.
How it is used
- To arrange, confirm and carry out your cat’s stay.
- To send you daily photo and text updates while your cat is boarding.
- To reach you, or your vet, if your cat needs care.
- To keep a record of previous stays, so a returning cat’s routine is already
known.
Your details are not sold, rented, or used for advertising, and you will not be added to
a marketing list without asking you first.
Photos of your cat
Photos taken during a stay are sent to you as part of the daily updates. A photo is only
used publicly — on this website or on social media — if you have said yes to
that. You can withdraw that permission at any time and the photo will be taken down.
When information is shared
Information about you or your cat is only shared:
- With a veterinary practice, if your cat needs treatment during a stay.
- With the payment provider, to take payment for a booking.
- Where the law requires it.
How long it is kept
Booking and cat care records are kept for up to three years after your last stay, so that
a returning guest’s routine and medical history are on hand. Enquiries that do not
lead to a booking are deleted within twelve months. You can ask for your records to be
deleted sooner.
This website
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Any form on this site sends its
contents only to Yoko’s Coastal Cat Retreat. The contact page embeds a map from
Google, which may set its own cookies when it loads — that is governed by
Google’s privacy policy rather than this one.
Your choices
You can ask at any time to see what information is held about you, to have it corrected,
or to have it deleted. California residents have these rights under the California
Consumer Privacy Act, and exercising them will never affect the service your cat
receives.
